My name is Daiane and I’m 16 years old. I live in Porto Velho, Rondônia, but I was born in Apuí ,Amazon. I have three sisters (Nilva 14, Diana 19, and Sheila 23) and a brother named Marcos who is 25 years old. I am in the second year of high school in Anísio Teixeira School, a school created last year with an innovative model for teaching in the state of Rondônia. Some of my hobbies are writing poems, reading, listening to music (Pop, Rock, Reggae …), singing, and seeking solutions to difficult problems in math. I love teaching my peers. I must tell you that I am very grateful for this unique opportunity. Participating in this program is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I want to know the curiosities of North American culture (cuisine, musical rhythms etc…) and greatly improve my English while enjoying every second and not regretting anything.

I’m Gisele Moreira and I’m 17 years old. I live in Porto Velho – Rondônia with my parents and my two younger brothers, Gilsinho who is 11 years old and Yago who is 4 years old. Traveling to the United States will be a great experience and a dream come true. I’m so excited for this trip and I really want to enjoy it in the best possible way, knowing new places, sights, various foods, and to improve my English. I would also like to have the opportunity to ski in the snow, learn more about how education is applied, experience a few days in an American school, learn more about the culture and traditions, and even to stop at a park just to chat, laugh and play! I am also wanting to do more things with my new family and my friends and I’m sure that this trip will be unforgettable! This trip will have immense value for my future. Well, I’m so excited to meet you all and these weeks that we’ll be together we’ll be like a family, and I’ll take everything in my heart.

I only have one sister, and one dog.  My favorite subjects are math, physics, and chemistry, because I usually do better on logical things. I really like to hang out, meet different people, cultures, and make new friends. I’m very eager for this travel, because I’ve never been to other country and I can’t wait to know a little more about the USA. I looked at Denver in Google Maps and I was amazed! The streets are very nice; the city is very beautiful and seems to be incredible to live there! Another thing is that I’m eager to know the family who will host me.

In days that I am with free time I play video games, I use the computer, I ride bikes with my Aunt, I exercise at home, I go out with my family, sometimes I study, and I sleep. My expectations about the trip are: make new friends, get along with the family that will host me, to see many places (like the Denver Zoo, the Mountains, and more places), enjoy all the celebrations that I will attend. I intend to enjoy all the days that I will stay in Denver. Knowing that I will go on snow days, I want to ski and intend to play in the mountains.

I really like living here because we have a lot of contact with nature and I like that a lot. Having that contact with nature is something very important to me.
