Meet the Denver Delegates
In partnership with our Brazilian partnering institutions, SENAI and SESI, we are delighted to present the first group of Brazilian Denver Delegates who will travel to Denver, Colorado, in October! Read more about the exchange.
Ana Carolina Assis
My name is Ana Carolina, I’m eighteen years old. I was born in Salvador, and I’m from Brazil. I have two sisters, one is fifteen and the other is thirteen, I live with my mother, my father and my sisters. I like reading, writing and watching TV, I’m very talkative and cheerful, and I love to laugh. Since I was ten years old, I have wanted to be a lawyer . This is my passion and I study hard for it. I love American culture so this interchange will be very good for me and especially for my career. An interesting fact about me is that I love to eat pasta, pizza, and chocolate, but I don’t like to eat vegetables and salads.
Daniel Teixeira
My name is Daniel, but my friends call me Dani or Dan. I’m 17 and I live in Salvador, Bahia. I live with my parents, my sister and my cousin. I really like music, eating chocolate, and buying stuff, and I’m crazy about my friends. During my free time I used to watch television shows such as “Heroes,” “Pretty Little Liars,” and “The Vampire Diaries.” I also used to sing in a karaoke site and go out with my friends. An interesting fact about me is that I’m almost vegetarian. I mean, I don’t like meat or seafood, but I love to make desserts. Actually I love trying to make them, haha. It is the first time that I have gone abroad, so I hope to have a good experience.
Erick Morais
Hello friends! My name is Erick. I am 17 years old, and I live in Salvador, Brazil, with my family. I like to travel, to meet new cultures and people. I really like to listen to a good music, like classical music and rock. I love electronics, like video games, cellphones, tablets and computers. Now, I don’t know what I’ll do in my future, but I’m taking a technical course in mechatronics and I think that this course will help me in my choices. I love history, and this is my favorite subject! I love English, too. It’s a fantastic language! I think if I have the English, I have a lot of chances around the world. It’s a universal language. English brought a lot of amazing people to me here. I believe this can happen in USA too! I can’t wait for this trip. To meet a new family, to see Denver and maximize my English! It’s a realized dream!
Guilherme Edington
My name is Guilherme, I’m 16. I live in Salvador. I live with my mother and my grandmother. In my free time I like to play guitar and piano, games, and go out with my girlfriend and my friends. I born here in my city, principally the beaches, because I love beaches a lot! I like surfing, windsurfing, and sailing.
Larissa Carvalho
My name is Larissa, but most of people call me Lari. I’m 17 years old and I’m from Salvador, Bahia. I live with my mom, my brothers (I’m the oldest) and my stepfather. I love my family and friends, and spending time with them. They are everything to me. I like to go out, but also like to stay at home. I like reading, listening to music, going to the movies, traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people, always making new friends, but I have to say I’m shy. Anyway, I’m really excited to start my first trip outside Brazil and enjoy everything.
Matheus Ribeiro
Hey everyone, my name is Matheus Ribeiro, I’m 17 years old (almost 18), I was born and I live in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. I’m finishing my high school at SESI and I’m doing a technical course in Automation and Control at SENAI. I live with my parents and my new little adopted sister. I’m a very communicative person and I like to create relationships in different cultures, because of this I joined in this exchange, I love reading books (I like fantasy) and listening to music. I love rock music. My friends usually say that I’m addicted to music because I talk about it all time. I think that I’m not a hard person to socialize with, because I’m joking and laughing all the time. I don’t like sports too much, because eating and sleeping are not a real “sport”. I’m not sure about my future but probably I’ll try the engineering college. If that doesn’t work, I’ll try International Relations. It’s my first trip to another country and I just want to learn and have a lot of fun and music. I can’t wait to meet you all! “Hakuna Matata!”
Raiza Torres
My name is Raiza, I’m 18, and I live in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil! I live with my mother and my younger sister. My father lives in another city. The thing I most like to do is read. I like all types of books. I have a real passion for literature, and I love practicing gymnastics. I did the sport for 13 years, but had to stop training because of my classes and my food manager course. I do medical school, and want to be an oncologist! This interchange, for me, is the realization of the first of many dreams of traveling. I love studying English, and next year I intend to do an exchange of one year in the United States. In 2 years, I intend to do an exchange in South Africa and work in an NGO for children with AIDS! I am very excited to go to Denver, to see all the people and places, and to practice my English!
Taiane Silva
I am Taiane Silva (people usually call me Tai), I am 17 years old and I was born and raised in Salvador-Bahia-Brazil. I live with my folks and my only brother, who is older than me. I study at Djalma Pessoa High School and this will be my last year there. I also study Visual Communication at SENAI. I am a quiet girl who likes to read, play guitar and sing on karaoke (just on karaoke). I love meeting new people and I hate this fact: I’m allergic to shrimp. I love candies and watching the sky. John Mayer sings a lyric which I like to use as a motto for my life: “Someday I’ll fly, someday I’ll soar […] Because I’m bigger than my body gives me credit for.”
Talma Reis Neto
I’m Talma, I’m 17 years old. I live in Salvador, but I was born in Ilhéus, Bahia. I’m single. I have six brothers and sisters, but I only live with one sister and my mother. I’m a High Schools student. I want to be a lawyer and after, a prosecutor. I like cars, music, basketball, soccer and technology. I love playing basketball. I love my family and my friends. For me, living with joy is fundamental. I always want to be a happy person! My favorite foods are pizza and Japanese food. I want to have a good time and I want to make new friends!
Yan Nunes
My name is Yan, I’m 18 years old and I live in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. I live with my grandmother, since my mother and stepfather live in Brasília (the capitol of Brazil). I am deeply passionate about mathematics and understanding the Universe, and that’s why I want to be a physicist (my father is also a physicist, so I guess it is a family thing). I recently found out that I love reading; I have only ten books on my shelves, but eight of them are completely in English. Since the career of a physicist here in Brazil is very difficult and poorly rewarded, I plan to graduate (and most likely live) abroad, probably in the U.S. That’s why I am so excited about this exchange program: I’ll get to know the place that I might live in the future, and the people that may become dear friends of mine for the rest of my life.
